LifeLite Project When seconds count, an ordinary light becomes a beacon of life.
Do you remember a time when you needed help and no one was there with you? Do you know there are 10.5 million seniors who live alone and may be "at risk" in an emergency situation?
If you would like to give back to our community by: $ Providing an opportunity for seniors and others to get a quicker response to emergency medical assistance,$ Providing free emergency phones for senior citizens,$ Providing a valuable service,$ Keeping hazardous cell phone waste out of the landfill, then
You Will Want to be a Part of the LifeLite Project.
Judge Thomas A. Swift of the Trumbull County Probate Court invites you to become a part of the LifeLite Project. The LifeLite Project will provide an emergency flasher or ‘signal light’ to older adults and home-bound persons. This signal light consists of a socket and light bulb which becomes a part of one’s porch light. When switched on, the light flashes to help emergency personnel locate the home more quickly when there is an emergency call. There are several ways to become involved. If you and/or your organization would be willing to collect unused cell phones to be donated to the LifeLite Project, we will be able to provide cell phones to vulnerable seniors. The redistribution of these cell phones could easily be a matter of life and death to those facing an emergency crisis while at home and alone. The collection of these unused cell phones will also provide the resources to distribute a LifeLite to those at risk. You and/or your organization may also be asked to become a part of the distribution process of both cell phones and a LifeLite. Please direct your inquiries or willingness to partner in this new and innovative LifeLite Project to help those in need by calling the Trumbull County Probate Court at 330-675-2521 or by e-mail.
